BAMO Memorial Foundation Inaugration, 2023 @ Mercy Njeri
The BAMO Memorial Foundation was officially launched on July 2, 2023, by Mr. Waweru, Director of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, representing Madam Roseline K. Njogu, Principal Secretary of the State Department for Diaspora Affairs. Following the launch, the foundation organized a medical wellness and screening event for the local community, successfully serving over 250 individuals through the efforts of volunteer nurses and Nurse Practitioners from Canada and the USA, guided by Dr. Calistus from Tuti Medical Clinic.
During the event, 120 individuals received prescriptions, referrals, and general consultations from Dr. Calistus. Additionally, health screenings and education were provided to approximately 250 people, with volunteer medical providers conducting vital statistics checks, blood glucose assessments, weight measurements, and delivering health education.
Mr. Waweru commended the event organizers and urged members of the Diaspora to follow this example by volunteering their services in their home communities. He emphasized that such initiatives are a meaningful way to give back and support local populations.
